The Toray Group, consisting of 200 subsidiaries and affiliates in 16 countries, established Toray Composites America (TCA) in 1992 to fill the need for advanced composite materials, especially the aerospace industry.

A strategic supplier to the Boeing Company, TCA sought to expand its Fredrickson facility specifically to meet production needs for the 787 “Dreamliner” commercial airliner.

Engineered and construction managed by InSpec International, the project was contracted in scope packages through bidding among pre-qualified contractors. Mountain Construction bid and won three packages: concrete, structure and interior build-outs.
